Bangladesh Open University (BOU) is a public university based in Board Bazar, Gazipur District, Dhaka Division. Based on enrollment, it is the seventh largest university in the world. The university was founded on October 21, 1992.
Bangladesh Open University (BOU) is the only public university in the country that uses distance education as a delivery modality. Its mission is “to promote the instruction of all standards and knowledge, both general and scientific, through any form of communications technology, to raise the level of education and provide people with educational opportunities through the democratization of education and creating a class of competent people by raising the level of education of the people.
Distance education was first implemented in Bangladesh when the Directorate of Education was commissioned to distribute 200 radio receivers to educational institutions. This resulted in the establishment of an Audiovisual Cell and, later, in 1962, the Audiovisual Education Center (AVEC).

Bangladesh Open University Admission 2022
The Bangladesh Open University has published an open call for applications for all programs. Students can obtain an application at the BOU regional office. The date of the BOU Honors Admission Test would be announced.
Eligible candidates must apply using the Open University application form. Applicants can get admission by paying Tk. 100 / – at any study center during office hours. The application must be sent where it is collected.
Students must submit a recent three-copy attached photograph, all education certificates and report cards, and a quack certificate with their application. The annual report of the Bangladesh Open University has been published and the application process is still ongoing.
Students must complete 40 courses or 120 credits in four years, with three credits assigned to each subject. Interested candidates can apply online from March 2022 and the latest application submission date is September 2022. Application fee taka 250 / -.
The date of the admission test is not fixed until now, it would be held in October or November 2021. The list of candidates eligible for the admission test and the admission card will be available a few days before the exam. The name of the admissions testing center can be found in the BOU area office.
The result of the MCQ admission test will be published in the next exam days. Those interested must take the admission test and the candidates selected according to the list of merits of the admission test can obtain admission within the mentioned date.

Bangladesh Open University (BOU) offers three pre-university programs through Open and Distance Learning (ODL): High School Certificate (JSC) for grades 6-8, High School Certificate (SSC) for grades 9-10 and High School Certificate (HSC) for grades 11-12.
The management of these programs is strongly influenced by government policy, especially during times of political change in Bangladesh.
