B.Ed admission 2020

BEd course lasts for two years and is only available to candidates who have already earned a bachelor’s degree. In most states, the BEd course admission process begins in May. However, the second wave of Covid-19 has caused a delay in the 2021 process. This year, admission to B.Ed programs will begin in July / August.

Instead of an entrance exam, some states use a merit-based admissions process for BEd courses. Such candidates must complete an online application form in accordance with the process outlined by the relevant authority.

B.Ed Eligibility

The age limit must be at least 21 years old and a maximum of 40 years old. Although most of the age limit is not there to join this course, many colleges are uncomfortable giving admission to people over 40.

B.Ed course duration

The BEd course will last for two academic years, and can be completed in a maximum of three years from the date of entry into the program.

1 year B.Ed course

People started looking for 1-year courses after the new Education Policy was announced. Students who have completed their master’s degree can now take a one-year BEd course, in accordance with the new education policy.

This will be of great help to students who have completed their graduate studies because they will no longer have to study that for two years and will be able to complete this teacher training course, i.e. BEd course, in just one year. Now the question arises why there has been no update regarding the start of the course.

The start of the one-year b.ed course of this session, i.e. 2021, is expected to be delayed. It could start as early as 2022. As a result, I would not recommend anyone to look forward to a one-year BEd course when they can enroll in the regular two-year BEd course that are currently available.

BEd course Fees

In accordance with the New Education Policy, candidates who have completed their Master’s Level Course in the relevant stream will be eligible for a one-year B.Ed course.

The New Education Policy intends to launch a one-year B.Ed course for PG candidates in order to shorten the overall duration of education and prepare applicants for jobs in a shorter period of time.
The Governing Bodies, however, have not declared the start date of the one-year B.Ed Program.
